Hello Family and Friends!

Somehow the season is well underway, and we couldn’t be more excited and thankful for the incredible start! Our team has a mission to love God and others by competing Tough. Smart. & Together.

Our mission comes from the command in scripture in Mark 12:30-31 which says, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”“

We seek to compete for the glory of God, and we strive to love others on our team, in our community, and even our opponents. Being “Together,” also includes our extended family – you! Thank you to our alumni, parents, and friends who are so gracious and generous in your support!

MAKING HISTORY

IWU Women's Soccer moves to the highest ranking in program history at No. 4 in the latest installment of the STADIONIC NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll, announced by the national office on Wednesday.

IWU has been a defensive powerhouse this season, only allowing 1 goal which came against the No. 1 ranked Cumberlands (Ky.) in a draw. Since the last installment of the poll, the Wildcats have beaten Rochester Christian and Madonna.

PRE-SEASON

A few highlights from pre-season included field dedication, skit night, Sophie’s ice cream outings, foot washing, evangelism training with Dalton Miller, team dinners and senior testimonies. We ended our month-long pre-season with a trip to Tennessee where we spent a night at Mammoth Cave National Park enjoying great food and God’s creation! We pit stopped in Franklin, TN where the Gray Family (Freshman, Sadie Gray) hosted pre-game dinner and arranged for us to worship with AJ Prius, the song writer for many of Matthew West’s albums. We continued on our trip to Tennessee Southern with a big 4-0 win, where freshman Sadie Gray scored her first college goal not far from her hometown!

A most recent highlight was tying the #1 team in the country 1-1 and receiving a #4 National Ranking in the NAIA polls. You can see some of the game highlights here: WSOC vs. Cumberlands

Academics - The team has started up classes, so we ask for prayers for wisdom, diligence, and good health for them this semester.

Testimony - The Lord has given our team great success at the start of the season, which comes with added scrutiny. Please pray for wisdom and integrity in our interactions with opponents, so that we can continue to make Jesus known as we compete for Him.

Seniors - The Lord has given us an incredible group of competitors and spiritual leaders. Please pray for the Lord to reward their efforts and dedication and guide their next steps as they prepare for life after graduation.
