Summer is a wonderful reminder of God’s faithfulness and the many ways He continues to work through the lives of our Indiana Wesleyan University alumni. No matter where life has taken you since graduation, know that you remain an important part of the IWU family. We are praying for you—that God would continue to guide your steps, strengthen your faith, and bless you in your personal and professional journey. Our alumni community is always here for you, and we welcome you back with open arms as we look forward to reconnecting in the months ahead. As Scripture reminds us, “Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together… but encouraging one another.” — Hebrews 10:24–25 (NIV)
This season offers so many opportunities to reconnect and celebrate together. Join us for our Alumni Event at the Lexington Sporting Club soccer match in Lexington, Kentucky, on Saturday, August 1; stop by the IWU Booth at the Indiana State Fair on August 14–16 and 22–23; and help us kick off another exciting IWU Football season beginning Friday, August 28. Then, mark your calendars for one of our favorite traditions—Homecoming 2026, happening October 23–24. Whether you attend one event or all of them, we hope you’ll come back to campus, reconnect with friends, make new memories, and experience the warmth of the IWU community. We can’t wait to welcome you home.

UNIVERSITY NEWS & PARTNERSHIPS

|
The Higher Learning Commission (HLC), IWU’s regional accreditor, requires universities to complete a Quality Initiative as part of its 10-year accreditation cycle. For IWU, this project is more than a requirement. It is an opportunity to strengthen our foundation of excellence while living out our vision of being the Christ-centered university of choice for every generation.
Through the HLC Quality Initiative, IWU will build stronger systems to measure effectiveness across academics, student life, and operations. By doing so, we can “inspect what we expect,” ensuring that every program, center, and initiative delivers on its promises to students and stakeholders. At its heart, this effort is about glorifying God by striving for excellence in all we do while helping students grow in character, scholarship, and leadership.

2026 Athletics Hall of Honor Class Introduced
|
Indiana Wesleyan Athletics is excited to announce the 2026 IWU Athletics Hall of Honor Class. This year's class boasts one team and four athletes, and one lifelong supporter. The 2026 Induction Ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. All in attendance will receive a free ticket to the IWU football home game that evening at 6:00 p.m. against Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.

IWU Evolves Online Higher Education with 90-Hour Degree Programs
|
IWU has been a national leader in online degree completion for nearly 40 years, and is pleased to announce its “Fast Forward” 90-credit online degree programs, an emerging alternative to traditional 120-credit programs that reimagines how students gain career-ready skills through intentional, outcomes-focused learning. IWU is launching multiple industry-relevant 90-credit bachelor’s degrees, with several already open for enrollment and additional programs set to roll out in summer and fall 2026, with continued expansion planned in the years ahead, offering students both depth and breadth across high-demand fields.

Micah Young has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer of QuidelOrtho, a global leader in diagnostic healthcare solutions. Effective July 6, Young will lead the company's global finance organization, bringing more than 20 years of executive financial leadership in the medical technology industry. Prior to joining QuidelOrtho, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Masimo.

JCBank announced the promotion of David Richardson to Senior Vice President, Chief Commercial Lending Officer. Richardson has more than 30 years of experience in banking as well as served as Lieutenant in the United States Navy for 10 years.

Highwire, a strategic marketing and communications agency at the intersection of innovation and industry, announced the appointment of Kelly Losko, CPA, as Chief Financial Officer. Losko brings more than two decades of financial leadership across the advertising and communications industry and joins at a moment of significant commercial momentum for the firm.

Indiana Wesleyan University has appointed Dr. Penny Callaway as Chief of Staff, succeeding Dr. Linda Manganello, who will now lead the Center for Faith and Learning. Dr. Callaway will help advance IWU's strategic priorities and Christ-centered mission through leadership and partnership development. Congratulations to Dr. Callaway on her new role!

Virtuous Business: A Model Approach, authored by three members of the Indiana Wesleyan University community, is now officially available. Dr. Tom DuFore (IWU alumnus and recipient of the National and Global Distinguished Alumni Award), Dr. Debbie Philpott (long-time IWU faculty member and current DBA Research Chair), and Dr. Ethan Slaughter (IWU alumnus and current adjunct faculty) have co-authored a comprehensive academic and practitioner treatment of the Virtuous Business Model. Plus, the foreword is written by IWU’s own Dr. Jerry Pattengale.

Eric Peetz has been appointed as assistant principal at Batesville High School, in Batesville, Indiana. Peetz earned his Master of Education from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2012 and brings eight years of school leadership experience to his new role. Previously serving as assistant principal at Batesville Intermediate School, he has been recognized for his commitment to student success, school safety, and fostering a positive learning environment. We celebrate Eric as he continues to make a meaningful impact in Indiana education.

Southeast Missouri Food Bank has appointed Jim Gadberry to its Board of Directors. Gadberry serves as Vice President of Personal Lines Auto Claims at Nationwide Insurance and brings extensive leadership experience in the insurance industry. Jim holds degrees from Southeast Missouri State University and Indiana Wesleyan University. He also serves on the boards of the National Insurance Crime Bureau and the Certified Auto Parts Association.

Edward recently joined the Valparaiso University faculty as the Program Director for the new Master of Organizational Leadership program in the College of Arts & Sciences. Prior to this I was the Executive Director of the Center for Innovation in Teaching, Assessment, and Learning at Valpo for 3.5 years.

Kyle accepted a position to become the solo pastor of Mount Union Wesleyan Church in Mt. Union PA effective July 6th. In addition, our second child Ellie Roberts was born on Memorial Day (May 25th) happy and healthy!

Michael has accepted the position of Band Director for Eastern Howard School Corporation located in Greentown, Indiana.

Indiana Wesleyan alumnus Renita Malone recently launched Second Wind Adult Learning Academy, a Chicago-based nonprofit dedicated to helping adult learners build digital literacy, workforce skills, and career readiness. Drawing on more than 15 years of experience in technology and education, Renita is committed to creating opportunities for lifelong learning and digital inclusion while giving back to her community.
